Pushing strollers or trailed by toddlers and pooches, Playa Vista families turned out on March 24 at The Pointe Park for an early morning run that culminated at a the end of a rainbow balloon tunnel.
Silicon Beach Parents Group Director Gabrielle D’Addario said the inaugural Playa Vista Fun Run was intended to build community at home while supporting HomeAid LA, a nonprofit that works to end homelessness.
HomeAid LA Executive Director Michael Foley said the organization is currently working on a 12-bed facility in Long Beach for victims of domestic violence and is collaborating with the National Health Foundation to create 61 beds in the Pico-Union District for homeless people who need recuperative care after hospital stays.
Elevation Fitness, Kris Zacuto of Hilton & Hyland, Kabrita and Lorna Jane sponsored the Fun Run.
