The chianti flowed like water as Playa Vista’s newest restaurant, the Italian eatery Piccolo Ritrovo, celebrated its grand opening on Nov. 9.
Husband-and-wife team Ivan and Deva Kodeh, who live in Playa Vista and also own the original Piccolo Ritrovo in Pacific Palisades, have completely reinvented the old Pinkberry space on Seabluff Drive across from Concert Park. The vibe is upscale yet casual and seats 40 people inside and 40 people out on a patio that’s lined with heat lamps for chilly nights.
Guests at the opening-night party enjoyed tray-passed bites of Caesar salad, a variety of pizzas, picatta-style salmon fillet with grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes, skewers of chicken breast in lemon-caper sauce, and penne rustiche — a small tube pasta with rapini, sausage and sundried tomatoes.
The restaurant’s regular menu includes weekly specials for local employees, takeout and delivery.
