Providence Saint John’s celebrated the grand opening of its new Playa Vista medical offices on Thursday, Aug. 17, with L.A. City Councilman Mike Bonin on hand to congratulate them.
The facility at 12555 W. Jefferson Blvd. includes 16 exam rooms and two large procedure rooms for primary and specialty care, including pediatric medicine, cardiology and well-woman exams to serve the “lots of mommies in the area,” said Katie Kerr, director of primary care services.
Pediatric services include separate sick and well child waiting rooms, with negative reverse air technology to suck the germs away.
Kerr led a tour of the high-tech facility, which was designed in accordance with strict conservationist standards to save energy.
Providence also recently made a $30-million commitment to funding mental health initiatives in the community, said Kerr.
“We’ll also have an adult and a children’s psychiatrist available who will take insurance. Our goal is to provide as many services as possible so people don’t have to leave the area,” she said.
