When clients contact Shereen Seigel to purchase or sell a home in Playa Vista, they are getting an expert in the field.
Seigel not only works there, but she has considered Playa Vista home for more than two decades.
A Realtor at eXp Realty, Seigel purchased her first property in Playa Vista in 2003, when the now-thriving community was made up of dirt lots.
“Back then, most of Playa Vista was a construction zone, but I was intrigued by the planned vision and knew this place was special,” Seigel said, adding she has watched the community grow into what is now Silicon Beach.
Seigel’s experiences in Playa Vista help her relay to clients the joys of local amenities ranging from shopping to schools. She can offer first-hand and accurate information.
“I know the area more than most because I’ve owned property and lived here from the beginning,” she said.
“Buyers find this especially helpful to understand what our community is all about, and sellers find this experience invaluable as well. I am invested in my community, support local businesses by dining and shopping here, and am involved in the HOA. I am always around, and I feel like I’m everyone’s neighbor.”
In addition to her in-depth knowledge about Playa Vista, Seigel is passionate about the neighborhood’s outstanding lifestyle.
In fact, Seigel noted that the centrally located neighborhood is the best place to live in Los Angeles.
“Where else in LA can you live without getting in your car all weekend? I have all the restaurants, shopping, Pilates and gyms, beauty salons, markets, movies, and pool all within walking distance. I love walking on the beach and it’s only a mile away,” she said.
“I enjoy traveling and it’s a 6-minute Uber ride to LAX. If I desire city hustle and bustle, that too is easily accessible without having to get on the freeway. Playa Vista is resort living at its finest. And it’s booming here with all of the major tech players such as Google and YouTube.”
As for trends in real estate, Seigel has noticed that many of her clients want to downsize to a home that is closer to their work.
“Previously, many people bought larger homes that were farther away from their jobs — for instance, homes in Orange County that had more land or a pool,” she said.
“But now, people are not wanting to spend as much time on the road. They want to spend more time with their families.”
Being mindful of this goal, Seigel is honored and always happy to help clients find their dream homes in the community she loves.
“Some of the homes here are smaller and things are a little more expensive, but we are so close to Downtown LA and a lot of my clients work very close to here,” she said.
When she is not busy helping her clients buy or sell a home, Seigel enjoys spending her free time doing yoga and Pilates, watching movies, exploring new restaurants in Playa Vista, and spending time on Saturdays at the neighborhood farmers market.
Seigel said it is fulfilling to help her clients discover why Playa Vista is the best place to call home.
“I love helping people, and being a part of one of the most important decisions in their life,” she said.
“It is important to me to go above and beyond and make sure my clients are happy throughout the process. At the end of the day, I can sleep knowing I did my very best.”
