Joliet Comedy Night

JULY 20

Guests looking to treat themselves should head to Joliet Café and Bar in Playa Vista. One ticket will net the perfect pairing of one cocktail and a comedy show. This all-star entertainment lineup includes Vinny Fasline, Sarah Rachel Lazarus, Jack Robichaud, Eric Hahn, Shannon Leigh, Sam Gibson, Chad Damiani, Elijah Bates, Jerah Milligan and Jason Cohn. Haley Hanson will host the show with Benjamin Ishizuka doing the music.

Drive-By Truckers

JULY 20

As part of their “Southern Rock Opera Revisited Tour,” Drive-By Truckers will perform the acclaimed 2001 album along with fan favorites and other songs from across their classic canon.

Leslie Mendelson

JULY 21

Leslie Mendelson, a singer and acoustic guitarist, is a Grammy Award-nominated artist and is releasing her fourth studio album, “After the Party.” She collaborated with producers Peter Asher, Tyler Chester and Steve McEwan. McEwan is her co-songwriter and has won three Grammy Awards. She worked with guitarists Waddy Wachtel and John Jorgenson, bassists Leland Sklar and Derrick Anderson and drummers Jim Keltner and Abe Rounds.

Free Dog Fostering 101 Workshop

JULY 21

At this fostering workshop, visitors will learn where to find dogs, how to treat them and their home environment needs. Trainers and representatives from local shelters will be there in attendance, too.

“Flamenco Arabe”

JULY 21

This show will feature belly dancing and flamenco, which is Spanish folklore music. There will be performances from artistic director and dancer Corina del Sol, master guitarist Paco Arroyo, flamenco performer Yolanda Arroyo and more.

Film Screening: “The Boys in the Boat” (2023)

JULY 24

Adults and teenagers are welcome to attend a viewing of the latest adaptation of “The Boys in the Boat.” The movie is a period piece set during the Great Depression, focusing on the University of Washington’s rowing team competing at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.

Dog-Friendly Comedy Show

JULY 26

Guests are invited to laugh with comedians who are raising funds at the PetSpace. Dogs are welcome, too. Comedians in attendance are Taylor Williamson, Leah Knauer, Hugo Galaxy, Angie Stroud and Antjuan Tobias. The show is hosted by Caitlin Benson and DJ Anna Krylova. A portion of ticket sales will go toward the PetSpace Extraordinary Care Fund, which assists injured animals in the shelter system and provides them with a better chance at adoption.

“Look What Fell Out de Mango Tree”

JULY 27

In Debra Ehrhardt’s autobiographical piece, she shows audiences what it was like for her to forgive and move forward with relationships. The play is directed by Paul Williams, a hall-of-fame songwriter and Grammy Award winner, and stars Ehrhardt and Christopher Grossett.

Musiq Soulchild

JULY 27

See Musiq Soulchild under the stars. Inspired by Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, Soulchild blends blues, jazz, gospel and hip-hop.

Kimo West and Ken Emerson

JULY 27

Hawaiian slack key and slide guitarists Kimo West and Ken Emerson will perform music from their new album, “Slackers in Paradise.” They will pair melodies and hot slide guitar work to create unique sounds.

Club XCX: A Charli Party

AUG. 2

Adults 21 and older can attend this hyperpop dance party. The club will play hits by artists and groups including Charli XCX, ARCA, Slayyyter, Shygirl, SOPHIE and 100 gecs. Those looking to feel the beat should head down to The Venice West for a night of dancing.

Emo Night Brooklyn

AUG. 10

Emo Night Brooklyn is composed of two best friends, Ethan and Alex. Since their band’s inception, performers from the emo and punk-rock scene have served as guest DJs, including Ryan Key from Yellowcard, William Beckett from The Academy Is… and Jordan Pundik from New Found Glory. ENB wants guests to scream, dance and have a great time.
