The LA Clippers hosted a Media Day on Sept. 24 at their training facility in Playa Vista. From rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to international player Danilo Gallinari, athletes answered questions about training regimens and the future of the team before signing basketballs. Owner Steve Ballmer plans to create a $1.2 billion stadium by 2024 that will be located in Inglewood, according to SportsProMedia.com. The team currently shares the Staples Center with their rival, the LA Lakers, but many think it’s time for the team to have a place of its own and escape the shadow of the Lakers. LA’s two NFL teams, the Rams and the Chargers also have a stadium under construction in Inglewood. The new arena for the Clippers would be very close to the NFL stadium and would be able to seat approximately 18,000 fans. If approved, the new basketball arena would heighten the team’s fan base.
