Hal’s 2.0 in Playa Vista gets its liquor license

If you haven’t heard that Hal’s Bar & Grill has a new location at Runway in Playa Vista, it may be because from April until now, they’ve only been serving breakfast and lunch. They’ve been waiting to serve dinner until they could do it properly: with a glass of wine or a cocktail. To celebrate approval of their liquor license, Hal’s has hosted several spirited events, including a private party for local residents on Oct. 4, and a jazz-fueled tasting party for the media on Oct. 5. As the free champagne and prosecco flowed, and the famous pan seared scallops were served, co-owner Hal Frederick said he feels encouraged about the new location. “Everybody’s reaction to this area – what’s going on here – has been really positive. And there’s a good cross-section of people. You expect the young millennials to be here but their parents are coming here as well. Society is very integrated here.”

Hal’s Bar & Grill is at 12751 Millennium Drive, Ste. 140, in Runway at Playa Vista. Call (424) 228-4641 or visit halsbarandgrill.com.
