Traditionally, consumers looking for an imported luxury SUV opt for a European or Japanese brand. However, Korean manufacturers have entered the market, and their Genesis lineup is a strong contender. The price of the enhanced Prestige GV80 is compelling, at a neat $81K.
This cabin is absolutely plush, featuring top-grade Nappa leather and suede trim. An impressive information screen measures 27 inches wide, making it easy to observe details. The number of gadgets is too long to list here, but a few stand out, including heated armrests, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, a panoramic moonroof and a three-zone climate system. A powerful Bang & Olufsen sound system with 1,400 watts blaring through 14 speakers tops it off.

Under the hood is a powerful 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine producing 375 horsepower, paired with all-wheel drive for optimal traction. Acceleration is brisk, reaching 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds. Fuel economy is rated at 16/22 mpg, and this example achieved 24 mpg on highway trips.
A less powerful 2.5-liter turbo engine is available, producing 300 horsepower and achieving a 19/24 mpg rating. This applies to the base model, which starts at $59,000 and features fewer luxury items.
A strong selling point is the factory warranty of 10 years/100,000 miles on the drivetrain. A savvy buyer could discover a well-maintained pre-owned model just off a 36-month lease, still enjoying seven years of warranty coverage. This makes the GV80 an excellent choice, whether new or used.
