Visit Laguna Beach
To support residents displaced from their homes or forced to evacuate by the wildfires, Visit Laguna Beach is working closely with local partners and Laguna Beach area hotels to offer discounted accommodations.
“We are heartbroken to see the damage from the Los Angeles wildfires. Residents and visitors impacted directly by these fires are first and foremost in our hearts,” said Karyn Philippsen, founding member of Visit Laguna Beach. “We are also incredibly grateful for the ongoing efforts of the first responders working tirelessly to protect lives and property.”
Fire relief accommodations include:
• Surf and Sand Resort Laguna Beach
Surf and Sand Resort Laguna Beach is offering a special rate of $699 for fire evacuees. The discounted rate includes waived resort and parking fees. Rates are available until Jan. 19.
• Hotel Joaquin
Hotel Joaquin offers a preferred rate to inquiring fire evacuees and waiving their 18-and-older and dog rules.
• Capri Laguna
Capri Laguna is offering 50% off rates to those affected by the fires, call 949-494-6533.
• Casa Loma Beach Hotel
Casa Loma Beach Hotel offers a wildfire evacuation rate 30% discount with waived amenities and parking fees. Access Code: EVAC25. Valid through Jan. 21. Cancel Policy: 24 hours prior to arrival.

This foundation offers financial assistance through $250 “SAVE” gift cards offered by firefighters.

The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army serves meals and amenities to those impacted by the wildfires.
They will mobilize emotional and spiritual care teams with pastors and volunteers visiting neighborhoods impacted by the Eaton Canyon and Palisades fires. These individuals will provide food, comfort and practical assistance.
The Salvation Army will only accept financial gifts due to the logistical challenges of managing food, clothing and household goods donations. YMCA
Local Y Centers have large quantities of clothing, food, water, luggage, toiletries, diapers and baby supplies. Those impacted by the wildfires can come over and receive free items. To find a Y Center, visit ymcala.org.
Those impacted by the Eaton Fire, the South Pasadena and Sierra Madre Y Centers are nearby. For the Palisades Fire, it would be the Westchester and Collins and Katz Y Centers.
The Koreatown Center for Community Well-Being Y also has supplies. The Y can additionally send goods to different centers.
All YMCA locations have resources like free child care for children of first responders, displaced essential workers and families, evacuated individuals or those who have a death in the family from the fires. There are limited spaces available.
As the situation continues, Y Centers have extended hours for people who need showers, mental support, and other resources that can be provided by staff or facilities.

American Red Cross

Watch Duty
The nonprofit smartphone app Watch Duty allows users to track fires and find services. The app does not track information nor sell user data. Users will receive notifications about government-issued emergency reports and official services.

Other fire-tracking and air quality-analysis software can be accessed through the websites of the Los Angeles County government, CalFire and AQMD.
LA County government has real-time evacuation alerts, shelter locations and other necessary information regarding the wildfires. CalFire hosts information about ongoing emergency responses in California. AQMD will keep users informed about wildfire smoke conditions and real-time air quality reports on a per-area basis.

The cellphone and internet service provider AT&T will offer wildfire-impacted areas with unlimited data usage, talk and text until Thursday, Feb. 6.

Verizon
Verizon said customers in the highest-impact areas would waive their charges for calls, text messages and data usage. The company has also deployed free Wi-Fi and charging stations at multiple wildfire shelters with more underway.

DoorDash
DoorDash is waiving order fees placed in Los Angeles County and donating $1 to World Central Kitchen for every order placed in the area — up to $1 million. WCK has mobilized with relief teams to provide hot meals for families and first responders amid the wildfires.
“In response to the devastating effects of the LA wildfires, DoorDash is announcing additional efforts we’re taking to help with recovery and relief efforts,” said Scott Korinke, senior account executive with Elevate Public Affairs.
“Earlier this week we announced support efforts for local restaurants and Dashers impacted by these fires, along with donations to those who’ve been displaced and the first responders on the front lines.
“By waiving our fees on all orders in Los Angeles Country — from local restaurants to groceries and essentials like baby food, pet supplies and toiletries — we hope that we can help get through this next chapter even a fraction easier.”

Uber
Evacuees have a free Uber ride up to $40 using the promo code “WILDFIRE25” in the Wallet section of the Uber app before requesting a ride to a designated shelter location.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile teams offer free Wi-Fi connectivity and device charging 24/7 at the T-Mobile Freemont and Huntington retail store at 1318 Huntington Drive, South Pasadena.
That location may change and more may be added.
T-Mobile has restored roughly half of the sites that were impacted by commercial power loss.
As conditions safely allow, the T-Mobile teams are evaluating impacted sites in Altadena, Duarte, Calabasas, Malibu, Fillmore and Agoura Hills and continuing to deploy and refuel portable generators to sites until commercial power is restored.
T-Mobile and Starlink opened T-Mobile Starlink Direct-to-Cellular service over impacted areas of Southern California to deliver wireless emergency alerts and SMS and enable 911 texting. While SpaceX’s direct-to-cell constellation has not been fully deployed, the company is making this early test version available for those who need it most.
T-Mobile continues to support federal, state and local officials and emergency management agencies and deployed Wi-Fi routers to boost connectivity at incident command posts at Zuma Beach in Malibu and Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Residents and businesses in evacuation zones can apply for relief at disasterassistance.gov. Benefits include temporary displacement assistance and coverage of hotel costs for two weeks; personal essential item reimbursements of $770 and large grants for medical bills and car repairs.

Misfortune and Calamity Tax Relief
People may be eligible for tax relief if they incurred property damage or if it was destroyed by fire or flooding. To qualify, homeowners need to file a reassessment application at https://bit.ly/CalamityBreak.
The assessor’s office must be notified within 12 months of the date that the property has been damaged and destroyed and the loss must exceed $10,000 in its current market value.

U-Haul
U-Haul has made 92 company facilities in Southern California available for 30 days of free self-storage and a U-Box container disaster relief program to help evacuees and affected families.
“I cannot put into words the devastation that I have witnessed firsthand,” said Chris Piedra, U-Haul area district vice president.
“People are hurting and in need of help. U-Haul is part of these communities, and if we can help our neighbors in this process, we are going to do so.”
The 30-day free offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability at participating U-Haul-owned and -operated locations.
